The homeowners wanted to expand their living area by adding a single-storey rear extension that would create an open-plan kitchen and dining space filled with natural light. The aim was to improve everyday usability, connect the interior with the garden, and modernise the home’s overall design while boosting property value in Barnet’s competitive housing market.
Challenge
The existing structure was limited by poor layout, insufficient daylight, and dated finishes. Maintaining the home’s character while integrating a contemporary extension required structural reinforcement and careful material selection.
Solution
Our team designed and built a rear house extension in Barnet using a steel-reinforced frame, high-performance insulation, and full-width aluminium bi-fold doors. Velux skylights were installed to flood the new kitchen-diner with natural light, while underfloor heating and bespoke cabinetry added comfort and functionality. The external brickwork was matched to the original façade for a cohesive and timeless look.
